About Andrew

Andrew is the founder and executive director of the Minnesota Association of Defensive Firearm Instructors (MADFI). He wrote its state-approved instructor curriculum, and has personally trained and certified more than 80 instructors.

He has been teaching Minnesota carry classes since 2005.

Andrew is also a certified NRA instructor in Basic Pistol and Pistol First Steps, Home Firearm Safety, and Personal Protection in the Home, and is a certified range safety officer.

From 2013-2016, Andrew served as spokesman and vice president, then president, of Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance, the grass-roots organization that brought the right to carry to Minnesota. In his tenure there, he was instrumental in blocking infringements of the rights of Minnesota gun owners, as well as legalizing suppressors and capitol carry, as well as preventing the seizure of firearms during a declared emergency.
